Our story begins on the plains of a distant continent.
This is true for everyone who was present in the early stages of human development. The plains were the common feeding ground, so to speak, for humankind’s last great gathering before the dispersion of the tribes. This sounds a bit primitive, and so it would seem because of language.
But once, humankind was at an all time lull in finding what each one knew was important to them. This was intended for the theme to rouse and change direction – a quiet before the storm, or the calm before the rousing winds of change.
Incarnate and full of enthusiasm, each one stepped out of the dust, following one they trusted or loved into the new dawn of human existence. This was the first day of your life.
A bountiful existence, there was nothing to compare to this open and wondrous world of nearly perfect operation. It almost seemed magical, and indeed we thought it was, finding with every thought the substance of that thought already in the world, as if made by that mysterious magic.
I prepared to walk ahead, and found you waiting there. How magical! In the preparation I created the outcome best suited to my need: you, right before my eyes. Or so I thought just then.
In time, I realized the best outcome would be for me to stand away from you in order to see you as an individual, and be surprised when you reached the goal before I did. There were no goals in truth, just play and finding each other, time and time again.
A new thought began to surface: “You will hide first, before I start to look; this will cause me to suffer in the thought of having lost you.” This was the second day of your life.
The third day it rained so hard, we slept in the peace we knew before we lived, and this was a sound practice we learned to love.
The fourth day was the best day of all. I ran from you, and you followed me home. Thus on the last day of your life we lived in the comfort of home, together for all eternity. This is how I come today – seeking the comfort of home.
No journey is as difficult as the one of return. Though it may seem to be the only one you seek, it is one that holds you captive, at the same instant looking toward your end and looking back at what you once loved.
But you followed me home! In that memory I knew the truth of my loyalty to you rested in this realization: I will never again be home until you follow me, until I am fed, comforted, and given a purpose, until your purpose is ours, and is for you sacred once again.

On Sept. 9, ‘09 I came back for more…
“But you followed me home! In that memory I knew the truth of my loyalty to you rested in this realization: I will never again be home until you follow me, until I am fed, comforted, and given a purpose, until your purpose is ours, and is for you sacred once again.”
As I read again these words I hunger for more. Two sentences with the power to evoke/elicit a strange ancient longing. To be so loved as you are is having an effect on me.
“… In that memory I knew the truth… “
